UK Pike About
The Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity was founded on March 1, 1868 at the Univeristy of Virginia. Through the years of expansion, PIKE began the last single-letter chapter in 1901 at the University of Kentucky, Omega Chapter. PIKE has grown throughout the years on campus, with over 2,000 men calling Omega chapter home.
Recently, PIKE has excelled in many aspects, athletics and recruitment being at the top of the list. We have become closer to our 100-man chapter goal with this semester, recruiting 35 men to the newest pledge class.
Omega Chapter has also excelled in our philanthropy, last year raising/donating over $6,000. Most recently, on September 11, we held the first PIKE "Pink" party, raising over $1,000 for breast cancer awareness. On September 26, we have teamed up with the Coach to the Cure foundation and will collect donations during the UK v. FL football tailgates and co-hosting with local Lexington bar, The Penguin, with proceeds at the door going to the foundation. It will be a great night for all involved. We are also teaming up with Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity to co-host the Greek Olympics on September 29, with all proceeds going to the Kentucky Chapter of Special Olympics.
PIKE has many more promising events to come.
